Suppiah Muthusamy is the firm’s founding partner and brings with him 23 years of legal experience. He is known among his peers for his integrity, tenacity and steely drive, having obtained his law degree at the age of 49 from the University of Wolverhampton (1997), followed by the Certificate of Legal Practice (1998).

He read law while working for what was formerly called the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA). Here, Suppiah the civil servant, functioned in various capacities, including as Director of Enforcement Division for nearly 10 years in Johor and Negeri Sembilan, with a final posting in Kuala Lumpur.

In January 2000, Suppiah commenced his pupillage with Shearn Delamore & Co. where he gained exposure in various fields of legal practice including civil litigation, intellectual property matters and arbitration in relation to construction and conveyancing.

Upon admission to the High Court of Malaya in October 2000, he joined the law firm Mohd Haris Mohan & Partners and later, Tay & Partners.

His extensive exposure to consumer-related laws, while with the MDTCA led to his appointment as ad hoc Judge to the Tribunal for Consumer Claims (2005 to 2014) by the said Ministry. This is testament of his unassailable work ethic and integrity during his service of 25 years, with his previous employer.

In 2007, Suppiah set up his own legal practice, primarily focusing on conveyancing matters.
